Or just really busy. I guess a part of me has come to accept that change in district this size is very slow. Snail’s pace slow. We’re going through so many frustrations with different departments right now, it’s crazy. OK…one department in particular.
It seems that even though the administrators around here “talk the talk” about education being all about the kids, they don’t necessarily “walk the walk” when it comes time to suck it up and share what’s going on.
I have said this before, and I’ll keep saying it until the central office environment changes: there are too many people here that think they’re important because they work at central office.
This whole “we don’t want to step on any toes” business has to stop.
We’re all in the business of making sure children get educated whether we work directly with those children or not. If you’re worried about someone “invading your territory” or stepping on your toes, then 1) you aren’t doing your job and should be doing it better and 2) you’re forgetting that it’s all for the kids. If you’re so worried about someone else doing the things that you’re supposed to be doing, then why aren’t you doing them? If you physically can’t, then you SHOULD ask for help because not asking for help simply deterriorates the morale and the overall education of our students. I’m so sick of hearing “that’s their department,” when we could get so much done if we joined forces.
I guess I haven’t become complacent…just dormant.
