I’m wondering if this is really a new feature, or if I’ve just been oblivious to it for a while. I was Google mapping something today, when the “suggested routes” caught my eye…because, while I’ve been used to dragging the path line around to try out different routes, I’d never seen them already laid out for you. Pretty cool!
While it’s not perfect, it’s certainly a start to finding alternate routes.
Added bonus: instead of having to click the link to see the alternate route, you can simply hover your mouse over it and see how it matches up with the route you have displayed on screen:
